Meet Abby
This work started for me with a library book. A holistic pregnancy and childbirth book on display caught my eye. It was textbook-size and I had no intention of being pregnant any time soon. But I devoured the information with fascination and awe.
Years later - with a doula certification under my belt and two of my own babies born - I’m still a birth nerd. Still amazed and humbled by all that women’s and babies’ bodies can do.
I enjoy trying to keep up with my husband on hiking trips. I stay at home with my two toddlers. I try my hand at gardening and ceramics but have a lot to learn about both. Our family loves all things Columbia: from the trail systems and farmers markets, to the colleges and downtown streets. I truly believe better births build a better community and I’m excited to be a part of it.

I earned my certification as a full-spectrum doula from Jamaa Birth Village in 2020. The St. Louis doula program emphasizes community-based and culturally-congruent care. I received training to support the pregnant, birthing, and postpartum periods. Learn more about the organization here.
